With the AGM at Henbury last Friday night the 11th November 2011 Bristol & District Golf League is now over for this year, I would personally like to congratulate all Divisional Winners, with a special mention to Saltford Golf club our division 1 champions who now go on to represent us in the Inter –League challenge shield against the north of the county winners on a neutral course as yet still to be decided. I would also like to thank Henbury who in May hosted the Foursomes Championship and Chipping Sodbury who in September hosted our big event the league finals day; both courses were in excellent condition on the day, with the bar and catering facilities also of a very high standard. One disappointing issue I must mention is the NON RETURN of divisional winner’s cups, it is very embarrassing for me to try to present this year’s divisional winners with a cup which has not been returned from the previous year’s winners. Can I please ask all club secretaries / club representative’s to take a minute or two and have a look in your trophy cabinet’s, and if you have a Bristol & District Golf league trophy in your possession which you are not entitled too, please contact either the match secretary, the league secretary or myself (all contact information can be found on our web-site).So we can get it too the correct club who were lucky enough to have won it in the 2011 season. I would like to wish all fellow golfers and their families an early HAPPY CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR and I look forward to seeing you all next year either in the league or at our open events. One final THANK YOU to all my committee for the continued hard work they have all put in behind the scenes over the season too ensure that our league remains’ the best and most well organised in the Bristol area.
