LEAGUE FINALS  - SUNDAY 9^th SEPTEMBER 2007

 Report & Results........

The League held it’s annual finals & Presentation day at Cumberwell Park (9/9/07) attracting 250 of the leading amateurs in the area.  A busy day but well hosted by the Wiltshire club most appreciated by all competitors.

Weston-S-Mare were the days best team gross winners (best 4 from 5) returning 292 playing foursomes medal. The home club were second (299) & The Kendleshire returned 304 (Ceded) to  get third.

Worlebury won the best team nett (278) followed by Shirehampton Park (282) & Clevedon ( 284).

(W.S.M were cede out with their 283)

The Gross pairs prize & trophy were won by Ali James & Andy Cooper (Cumberwell Park) while Paul Wilkinson with Adam Sloan (Weston-S-Mare) had a better countback with 70 from team mates Rob Wilkinson & Louis Doe who were left in third place.

Scott Burgin & Nic Carter (Worlebury) 66 won the best nett pairs followed by Henry Campbell & Jim Chambers - Thornbury with 67 who had a better countback than Simon Wilmott & Kevin Watts from Kingsdown.

Mark Colling who represented the League sponsor, Baker Tilly, presented the prizes with League Chairman Richard Bennett & President Alan Shore then presented the seasons’ divisional champions starting with League Champions Knowle who won division one despite a tremendous fight with Chipping Sodbury which went to the last putt in the last match of the season.

Saltford received the div. 2 trophy while Weston-S-Mare had played well all season to take the div. 3 title. The Kendleshire continue to climb by winning div. 4 & The Bristol won div 5. Bath 2^nd did well to take the div 6 title While Wells 2^nd had yet another tight finish with Thornbury 1^st to win promotion for the second year running. The Kendleshire 2^nd took the div. 8 title whilst The Players 1^st won division nine.

Knowle 1^st will compete against the North Gloucester Foursomes League champions during the Autumn / Spring for the annual inter league shield.
